Agritech takes center stage at the Italy Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka: spotlight on innovation and sustainability

Expo 2025 Osaka will take place on the artificial island of Yumeshima, located in Osaka Bay, Japan. This global event will present a unique opportunity to showcase technological innovation and sustainability in the agri-food sector. Among the highlights of the event, on April 20th, the National Agritech Center will stand out with a series of talks and panels dedicated to the latest advancements in research applied to agriculture. The Center will be hosted in the Italy Pavilion, representing Italian excellence in research and innovation.

The participation of the National Agritech Center in Expo 2025 Osaka is an extraordinary chance to demonstrate to the world the value of Italian research in the agri-food sector. Innovation drives progress, and our mission is to develop technologies capable of addressing the challenges of food security and environmental sustainability,” stated Matteo Lorito, President of the Agritech Foundation and Rector of the University of Naples Federico II.

The agenda for April 20th includes participation by experts, researchers, and institutional representatives, with a panel moderated by Marco Pacini, General Manager of the National Agritech Center. Scientific representatives from the spokes will also participate. “Expo Osaka offers a unique opportunity to establish international connections and share best practices in the application of advanced technologies in agriculture. The Agritech Center is a reference point for applied research and technology transfer, and our presence here confirms this,” emphasized General Manager Pacini.

Special attention will be devoted to the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies to optimize agricultural production, enhance crop system resilience, and promote more sustainable agriculture. “The future of agriculture depends on integrating new technologies into production processes. Through Expo 2025, we aim to demonstrate how a scientific approach can create tangible impacts on food production and environmental protection,” explained Danilo Ercolini, Scientific Director of the National Agritech Center.

Additionally, on April 22nd, the National Agritech Center will participate in meetings with Japanese research centers and organizations to explore potential scientific and technological collaborations in the agritech sector.

Thus, the Osaka event confirms itself as a significant showcase for Italian excellence in agritech, positioning the National Agritech Center at the heart of international discussions on innovation and sustainability in the agri-food sector.
